Moldovagaz and Energocom have signed an agreement that allows the state-owned power trader to take over the natural gas supply to consumers as of September 1, 2025, while Moldovagaz will continue to handle billing and customer services.
The arrangement, signed under the provisions of the Law on Natural Gas, will run for seven months and may be extended in line with legislative deadlines. It follows the government’s decision to designate Energocom as the provider of public gas supply services, including as a supplier of last resort.
The companies said the agreement is intended to maintain service quality and ensure consumer comfort during the transition. For the duration of the contract, Moldovagaz will issue bills and manage customer relations, while Energocom will be responsible for securing gas deliveries.
Current household tariffs will remain in place until the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approves new regulated prices.
