The Federal University of Education, Kontagora (FUEK) has announced the opening of its Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal for candidates interested in changing their institution of choice to FUEK.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), this development was made public in a statement signed by the university’s admission officer, Mrs. Hannatu Dodo, and released to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

FUEK is one of the newly established universities in Nigeria, with a core mandate to specialise in teacher education and improve the quality of the teaching workforce in the country.

Eligibility for Application

The university has invited candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to consider selecting FUEK as their first-choice institution. Dodo also stated that the offer extends to candidates with a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE).

All eligible candidates are required to process their change of institution through any accredited JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre nationwide.

In the statement, Dodo said that the university’s management is encouraging candidates who are interested in pursuing careers in teaching and education to take this opportunity. She noted that the institution is preparing to begin academic activities soon. Prospective students are advised to complete the required process for change of institution via the JAMB portal without delay.

University’s Academic Mission

Dodo noted the university’s focus on training qualified and professional educators. “FUEK, which prides itself on raising the next generation of educators, reaffirmed its commitment to grooming competent and professional teachers to drive excellence in Nigeria’s education sector,” she said.

Prospective students are to visit any approved JAMB CBT centre to effect the institution change. The university advised that all steps be completed according to JAMB regulations and timelines to be considered for admission in the upcoming academic session.
