Abiodun Bodunrin has been appointed the new managing director of West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo), effective August 1, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Bodunrin replaces Michelle Burkett, who had led the company since Jan. 1, 2023.
“During her tenure, the company achieved several key milestones, including surpassing 12 million workforce hours worked safely over 11 years, delivering record gas volumes, safely executing multiple critical projects, and attaining notable improvements in system reliability,” WAPCo said.
The company thanked Burkett for her leadership and commitment to safety and strategic progress.
WAPCo operates the West African Gas Pipeline, which transports natural gas from Nigeria to neighbouring countries including Benin, Togo, and Ghana.
